These protein ball not only taste great but also give a wholesome boost of protein, calcium, iron, selenium, vitamins C, D, E, folate and other B vitamins, all from organic wholefoods to support optimal health and wellbeing.
We hope you love them as much as we do!
Ingredients:
6 dates (preferably medjool)
2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
¼ Cup Oats
2 Tbsp Cashew Butter (or any nut butter you prefer)
½ Roasted Hazelnuts
1 tsp Cinnamon
¼ Cup Almond Meal
1 Scoop Protein Powder (around 1 Tbsp) we recommend this one
Instructions:
1. Heat a pan and toast the hazelnuts for a few minutes or until aromatic and golden.
(Be careful to watch them, as they can catch quickly)
Once roasted, set aside to cool.
2. To a food processor, add dates, oats, almond meal, protein powder, cinnamon and nut butter. Blend until well combined.
3. Add in Maple Syrup slowly until you reach a sticky consistency to be able to roll into balls.
4. Add the hazelnuts and blend (or pulse) to combine them, but to still leave small chunks in the mixture – the crunch is what makes them even more delicious!
5. Once all blended to your liking, roll into balls and place on a lined baking tray.
6. You can roll them in crushed hazelnuts for that little bit of extra crunch if you like, or you can leave them plain.
7. Place in the fridge for about 2 hours until firm.
8. Once set, place in an airtight container in the fridge.
(Protein Balls will keep in the fridge for up to 4-5 days or the freezer for up to a month)
*Recipe makes 12-15 balls depending on the size you make them.
